Marine Recon Prep Explained

The day that everyone has been waiting for. The day we talk about Marine Recon Prep and what it takes to GO RECON and make it.

So we showed up to RIP 2 months before it started.  My buddy Dan and I were running so much that we couldn’t control our bowel movements!
A common misconception that people encounter is that if you want to become better at doing pushups, do a shit ton of push-ups! That is simply not the case. Athletes don’t train like that so why should we?

Josh Honsberger and I have designed a program that has a very specific work-to-rest ratio. When you’re at the end of a workout, you shouldn’t be throwing up in a trash can or not be able to function for the rest of the day. You should feel good about your workout and be able to do other things throughout your day.

I used to not pay any attention to recovery. I would get done with a 12-mile ruck or run and just continue my day. I didn’t know about foam rolling or stretching. That alone would have made my recovery time so much quicker! What people don’t realize is that you don’t get better when your training. You get better when your body is resting and recovering.

This could be the difference between you making and not making it.

This is a 12-week program designed to develop the strength and stamina to successfully complete every physical aspect of the Basic Reconnaissance Course (BRC). While having the overall stamina to be physically superior while attending your training at BRC. We have scientifically broken down the BRC requirements in order for you to optimize your potential without overtraining or causing injury. Understand, you are embarking on a journey where your teammates are going to have to rely on you. You being the weak link in the chain will jeopardize the team mission or even their life. Many have attempted to earn the title Recon Marine but very few accomplish that mission. Preparation, training, and mindset is everything.
