Made it Baton Rouge, Louisiana for a trip to see my friend Matt Vincent. We spent sometime going over the fundamentals of firearms and concealed carry.
Headed to Baton Rouge, LA for some firearms training with Matt Vincent. Needed to do some gear prep. Had a good planning meeting with him. TJ from TG Holsters stopped by to drop off some of the holsters we will be working with this weekend. Got a good training session in doing some deadlifts and Sorinex CMB Snatches for time. Then crushed some delicious Steak seasoned by Tacticalories.
As I previously mentioned, most people who carry concealed OR open are extremely responsible and have the mindset that they’ll do everything in their power to avoid a conflict, but if violence comes their way, they’re prepared to do what it takes to protect themselves and their family. This is a great mindset to have. A big mistake that some less responsible people make is having an invincible or escalation mindset. These people will go out of their way to go down that sketchy alleyway or will intentionally escalate a fight. Just because you carry a gun it doesn’t mean it’s time to start looking for trouble or trying to start a fight. In fact, it means the exact opposite. By carrying a gun, you must do everything in your power to avoid trouble.
I had a meeting in L.A. to discuss some upcoming projects. Man, what an awesome trip! Christmas Abbott and Chad Ottenbreit were great and just funny as can be. The meeting went well and we are all very excited of the potential ahead. None the less we had a great time getting to know each other. And I was just kidding about the "moving to L.A." part, that's never gonna happen.
I linked up with some old and new friends for a very cool new project. Chad Ottenbreit, Canadian, snow-boarding, baddass owner of EEKOE clothing. And the lovely Christmas Abbott athlete and founder of CA Agency & Crossfit Invoke. We learned new things about each other. Christmas Abbott has STANK FOOT. But, EEKOE's bamboo socks are the solution! These craziest kids made my quick trip to L.A. a blast!
Every time I go to KC I am blown away by how proud the locals are of their city. Kansas City is home of some of the finest original restaurants, bars and shops and also the World Series Kansas City Royals.
This is when I should have known things were going to go sideways for this trip! I found a place that in my budge and was available. Also! It was only a few short blocks from the Arnold Sports Festival. The lady immediately hit me back and said "Hey, just wanted to let you know that this house is located in a less than desirable neighborhood."
In the beginning of the Afghanistan conflict, the US utilized CIA and SF to make contact with some of their cold war contacts in order to oust the Taliban. They established local security militias to secure and govern their own villages. This process was working and the Taliban’s strength was collapsing. Soon after this, the coalition forces came to Afghanistan in force and took over as the overall arching theater command. For several years coalition forces directly targeted known Taliban. Eight years later we find ourselves executing the same program the CIA and SF were utilizing in the beginning.1 So, how would the outcome of the post 2001 September 11th conflict in Afghanistanbe different if we had continued with Asymmetrical operations versus conventional military methodology?
This past summer I summited Mount Rainier. I set a goal and I spent mounths preparing.

What is success?

When you read Never Forget, there are many of us that will truly never forget because it's the foundation of who we are and where we are. Don't take this the wrong way, we are not weak. We are stronger, smarter, and more united than ever before. The generation that was affected by that day will be forever ready to stand against any enemy and we are united together more than ever. Many organizations would not exist without the events of that day and the events of the past 15 years. We stood then, and we continue to stand now, ready to answer the call whether abroad or here at home.
I had the opportunity to make a spontaneous trip to Panama City Beach, FL where I spent my teenage years. Thought it would be a good idea to show you a little bit of my journey and some of the fun you can have in Panama City Beach.
I broke it down into a three part video series. Hope you enjoy and get down there enjoy it for yourselves!
Some accidental deaths are unavoidable—wrong place, wrong time. But most aren't. Staying alive requires recognizing danger, feeling fear, and reacting. Here's what you need to know to survive bear attacks, chainsaw accidents, and even vengeful vending machines.
The Spartans may have built one of the finest militaries of the ancient world, but their culture was so harsh that the word “spartan” has become synonymous with an austere way of life. Spartan society was carefully constructed around a strict moral code and sense of duty, and its people underwent extreme hardships and deprivation on their way to becoming accepted as full citizens. From adolescent military training to state-sponsored hazing, explore eight reasons why these ancient Greek warriors had a rough go of it.
Mount Rainier is a unique mountain within the contiguous United States. No other mountain is as extensively glaciated or has as much prominence. The scale and character of Mt. Rainier is more akin to an Alaskan or Andean peak. The highest trailhead requires the climber to gain 9,000 feet of elevation to reach the summit, as much as from Everest ABC to its summit.
While most of America enjoys this holiday with family and friends BBQ in the back yard there are an entire generation reflecting on our past and the friends that are no longer with us. I try and not get to somber on this day but celebrate the life that I have because they do not have that ability. I have a choice, to be upset and depressed of the enormous amount of loss our community has suffered or celebrate the men that they were and how important they were to me. I choose to remember them and draw strength from each of their characters.
I found myself gaining weight and becoming increasingly unhealthy. I was tired all the time and had not taken any personal time in months. Once I realized that I had went into a bunker with my head down just grinding away I started to look at ways that I could better myself and accomplish my goals while not compromising my work. I started to look at successful people from all different job fields. Actors, Business professionals, Athletes, and ask why one is more successful than the other. What I noticed was balance, routine, and a schedule.
In honor of Mother's Day, let's take a quick look at this thing called motherhood. Our mom had to incubate a living being that literally sucked the life right out of her, and eventually, she had to squeeze it from her body—the devious little creature wreaking havoc on its way out the door. After all that, she ended up with this little pooping, crying machine.....
